Genre: Erotic Romance
This is a ménage a tois done right. I found another book that delves into the realm of mfm romance with a twist. This triple pairing has to be married even before they get to the good parts. It was the perfect book to read clocking in at 100 pages when I was just coming off another book closer to 500. Elemental Pleasure by Lila Dubois and Mari Carr does not disappoint.
Heres the Blurb:
A dangerous Marine. A tech genius. A brilliant scientist.
When Carly Kenan joined the secretive Trinity Masters in college, she received entrée to an exclusive club that gave her access to wealth and power. But there’s a price all members must pay—they accept an arranged marriage, between not two, but three people.
Ordered to return to the Trinity Masters’ headquarters in Boston, Carly meets Marine Lance Glassco, a mathematician for DARPA, and Preston Kim, a dangerously intelligent chemist.
Though on the surface they have nothing in common, it’s clear the Grand Master thinks that together the three of them can do something amazing. And that’s why he’s declared that Carly, Lance and Preston must marry.
Though the physical attraction is instantaneous and incendiary, Carly is unprepared for the emotional intensity of the ménage relationship. Pushed beyond her limits, Carly runs from Lance and Preston. What she doesn’t understand is that she now belongs to them, body and soul…and they belong to her.
When Lance uncovers a dangerous crime at Preston’s company, Carly is caught in the crossfire and the struggling lovers are forced to move beyond desire…to trust. For the Trinity Masters, there is passion and power in three.
Down to the story itself. So the narrator reveals early on that she’s in this secret society and that the only requirement of its participants is an arranged marriage. The authors set the scene nicely with the suspense and rooms inside of rooms. Until its revealed that our character will be forced to marry not one, but two men.
The beginning uniting scene (my word not theirs) was a bit off-putting for me and slightly tasteless on behalf of a secret society. But then again it is a secret society. The explanation of why they wanted everyone to be married in pairs of three was also interesting. Now the characters. I loved both love interests. Something severely lacking in the last book I read. They both were there own individuals. They didn’t like each other in the beginning, but were able to overcome that outside of any help from the girl. Of course, if I were forced to choose. I’d go with Preston. That mans sex scenes are . . .
After the initial meeting and bonding is done, the suspense part of it kicks in. And I loved there bonding (which I’m saying for the second time). Carly, had her moments with her guys. As well as guys having moments together that were awesome sauce. I found myself rooting for them to make the whole thing full circle. But back to the suspense.
It was perfectly tied into the rest of the story. I was genuinely worried about the characters halfway through it. Carly’s reaction afterwards was perfect and I appreciated the authors not glossing over a difficult situation. By having her instantly recover. A character being hurt and having a little PTSD and depression is only realistic. But the guys shined through.
It is a short one, but a good one.
My Thumbs Up For:
- Loved Everyone
- Never a Dull Moment
My Thumbs Down For:
- Opening scene where everyone has to strip naked to meet each other like what?
- There is a confusing is this rape is this not rape scene. But then it becomes pretty obvious whats going on there.
