Finding out about German Village was a lot like Clark Gable said. A simple search just
A BRIEF OVERVIEW: I don’t think I could describe how German Village used to be better than, “Der Westbote,” described in 1855: “The people who live in these small houses work very hard. You will not find silver on the doors, but you will find many little gardens which produce vegetables for the city’s market. You will not find silk or other very expensive
German Village, is the primary setting for Miracle Walk. Although at the start there all residing in Chicago. However, when you revisit this quaint neighborhood you don’t want to miss its historical importance. So, take a Society Group Tour. Before or after your tour stop at Winans Chocolates and Coffees for a sweet snack.
German Village, Columbus is also home to the Franklin Art Glass Studios. Walk away with a stained glass souvenir. They also make lamps that a certain granny in our lives would love and appreciate.
Nothing gets the physical and mental aches out of your body like a deep tissue massage. One that Naomi would have taken with her longtime friend of the B&B. Possibly during the times that Ruthie was working to serve as a distraction. An appointment that Naomi would have had to been dragged too, at Body and Soul Licensed Massage Therapy.

Conversation Starters:
I think it’s important to take a deeper look at the third part of this trio, Opal. In the Bible, you know her better as Orpah. Not much is known about her after she leaves Ruthie and Naomi. So its easy to assume the worse but in, Miracle Walk, will dig a little deeper than that.
(In general, she’s viewed as the bad daughter in juxtaposition to Ruthie. Simple because she chose to go home and Ruthie didn’t, believing instead in God’s plan and Naomi’s love.)
In truth, Opal could have returned home and found love and God again. The way that he had intended. But because her journey was not integral to the story of Ruth’s it was simply not mentioned.
Which is why I chose the route I did with Opal. In this day and age where it’s impossible to lose contact with someone unless you’re doing it on purpose. I don’t think Opal would have chosen to fade into obscurity out of hurt or otherwise. It was almost impossible in those days to stay in contact with someone once they moved out of the village. So instead I gave her the chance to still be there for the people who were once a big part of her life.
- What is your opinion of Opal?
- Do you think her grief was more like Naomi’s or Ruthie’s?
